MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

Active: Open to persons who have at least one (1) year of experience at the time of application as fund-raising professionals, are self-employed or associated with an organization, institution or firm and compensated for his/her services. Active members hold some degree of accountability for income generation within the philanthropic process; estimate at least a quarter of their time is spend on fund-raising related responsibilities; subscribe to the Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice (“Code”) and its bylaws; promote the Donor Bill of Rights and, are employed or have been employed by an institution or organization that provides benefits to society. Active members enjoy full voting privileges.

Cost: $250 + $50 = $300 ($250 for national; $50 for local)

Introductory: Open to persons newly employed in the field; full-time students in a degree-granting, certificate or diploma program; members who work for grassroots organizations with an operating budget of $250,000 or less; executive directors who spend less than 25% of their time on fund-raising related responsibilities; and volunteers. All must subscribe to the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice and its bylaws and promote the Donor Bill of Rights. Membership in this category is limited to a two-year duration. Introductory members are non-voting members.

Cost: $100 + $50 = $150 ($100 for national; $50 for local) first year
Cost: $150 + $50 = $200 ($150 for National; $50 for local) second year

Associate: May be extended to persons who are engaged in fields related to fund raising, volunteers, or those who have mutual interests with fund-raising professionals, and who subscribe to the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice and its bylaws; and promote the Donor Bill of Rights. Affiliates do not have voting privileges.

Membership Information/Application

There are both international and local dues. Greater Milwaukee Chapter dues are $50 per year. This amount is in addition to the cost of international membership, which is different for each membership level. When you join using the international AFP web site, your international and local dues are automatically calculated and added together so that you make just one easy payment.
